DFACI

To further their ministry and to promote and hasten the appointment of a full-time bishop, Anglican ADF chaplains established the Defence Force Anglican Chaplains Incorporated (DFACI) in 1991 and purchased a house in the Canberra suburb of Kambah in 1993. [A copy of the DFACI Rules is found on pp. 101 to 110 of the Anglican ADF Chaplaincy Yearbook and is available on request]. By a scheme of voluntary contributions paid by the chaplains alone, the debt on the house was cleared and a much broader DFACI vision evolved.  DFACI exists to support the ministry of a full-time BDF, the development of a permanent Anglican ADF Chaplaincy Centre, the provision of welfare funds, supplementary funding for the annual chaplains’ retreat-conference, assistance to lay people training for ministry, and the supply of resources for evangelism and discipleship training.

There are two ways of making a contribution to DFACI.

1. Send your membership contribution to Chaplain Clyde Appleby, Hon Treasurer DFACI, Chaplaincy Centre, Australian Defence Force Academy, Department of Defence, Canberra ACT 2600.

2. Make a regular allotment to Defence Force Anglican Chaplains Incorporated with non-BSB number 010. DFACI is recognised by Defpay as an entity for salary allotments.
